How I Asked My Bridesmaids | Wedding Wednesday Post Two

October 3, 2018

This second post in my “Wedding Wednesday” series is a fun one!  Today I will be talking all about how I asked my bridesmaids to be a part of all of my wedding adventures.  There are a ton of different ways to ask your friends to be in your bridal party, so I figured why not share what I did?  I seriously loved getting creative with each of their “proposals”, and I think they all enjoyed them too 🙂  So glad I documented each proposal with some photos!

I have six girls total in my bridal party- two maids of honor, and four bridesmaids!  Since there are six total, I paired them up and devised three different plans for how to ask them.

Proposal #1

For this one, I got two square boxes, then added a note on the lid of each box that said “It’s My Turn To Pop The Question.”  I got a bunch of rose gold (because duh) confetti and filled two balloons with the confetti, as well as a rolled up note with the all important question- “Will You Be My Bridesmaid?”  I taped the ribbon of the balloon to the box, then taped a safety pin to the lid.  When Devon and Alexis came over, I gave each of them their wrapped boxes and loved seeing their reactions when they popped the balloons and the confetti exploded!

Proposal #2

Next, I had to ask my sister, Alex, and best friend, Alexis to be my maids of honor!  I ordered these super cute custom puzzles on Etsy, and they had to put them together in order to see the question of “Will You Be My Maid of Honor?” I used the same boxes from the first proposal, then added some confetti, a handwritten note, and the puzzle pieces.  I love how the puzzles turned out, and I love that they have a little keepsake item!

Proposal #3

Last, but not least, I asked my besties, Jenn and Heather. I saw an idea on Pinterest that I thought would be super fitting, and I think they loved how it turned out!  I got two small dessert/pastry boxes, made a trip to get some sprinkled donuts from Duck Donuts, and got some pretty blush ribbon to start.  Then, I assembled everything, put notes on the boxes that said “I Donut Want to Get Married Without You… Will You Be My Bridesmaid?” and delivered their proposals!  P.S- if you go to Duck Donuts and ask them to make the donuts really pretty, they will 🙂

Hope you all enjoyed this post!  I loved being able to share how I asked my friends to be a part of my wedding, and going back through the photos made me feel so blessed to have such wonderful people in my bridal party! <3
