What better way to kick off my new website and blog than sharing my own wedding photos! This post is incredibly long overdue, but I think sharing a personal post is the perfect way to celebrate my site launch. This will probably be my longest post I have ever shared, but I really hope you enjoy our photos and hearing about our wedding day! It is so crazy to think that Michael and I have been married for over a year already- time flies! I love going back through my wedding gallery and re-living some of my favorite moments from a day that went by way too fast.
From the very beginning, I loved getting to plan my wedding. I had a ton of fun with the entire process, and enjoyed getting to meet and work with so many incredible vendors. I also have to give a huge shoutout to my mom for everything she did. My mother in law went above and beyond as well, and I know without the two of them helping, our wedding would have been quite different! We were blessed to have such supportive family members and friends help us throughout the process and celebrate with us as we planned. Michael definitely let me take the reins with planning, but we both came to a conclusion that we wanted to have a big party and just enjoy our special day surrounded by our favorite people. Many many thanks to Kirstyn Marie Photography for these photos that we will cherish forever!
If you know anything about me, you know I love all things rose gold and blush, so I had to incorporate as much blush and rose gold as possible haha, especially my wedding details. Caitlin, of KK’s Printing made my invitation vision a reality. I loved working with her! Our rings are so special too. Mine are from Fredericksburg Jeweler, and Michael’s band is made from a whiskey barrel with elk antler and rose gold inlays. Rustic and Main designed it and we love their company!
My something new- my perfect dress from Ava Laurenne Bride.
My something old- my grandma’s beautiful blue topaz ring. I wish more than anything she could have watched us get married because she would have adored Michael.
Charla and Grace at Salon Emage did my hair and makeup, and they made me feel like a princess!
On the way to see Michael for our first look! I remember being so excited to show him my dress because I had talked about it all the time leading up to the wedding! It rained most of the afternoon, but we were fortunate to do our first look before it started raining. That was definitely a blessing!
After our first look, we took more portraits and photos with our bridal party, and shared a ton of laughs. Also, I have to put this photo in here because these two are the real MVP’s!
My bouquet smelled so good! Floral credits to Tammy at Good Earth Flowers.
My girls looked beautiful! Mix and match dresses are my favorite!
This group right here is the reason our portraits were absolutely hilarious. Our bridal party was the best! Perfect mix of supportive, funny and just all-around great people!
I really wish I knew what was going on here haha.
This photo, even though it’s so pretty, makes me crack up because I was literally being dragged. Between my dress, trying not to squish my flowers and being short, I couldn’t keep up with everyone haha.
Before the ceremony, Michael surprised me with an incredible gift: a watercolor painting of my rings. This means so much to me <3
My favorite photos from the day. A really good friend of mine built the swing for us!
After that, it was time to GET MARRIED! Here are some of the ceremony details. I hand lettered and painted these signs on acrylic board. This was a fun project for me to do!
One of the reasons we picked Rixey Manor as our venue was because of this beautiful space right here. With VA weather being unpredictable, we knew having a backup plan in case of bad weather was super important. Thank goodness we could have this indoor space for the ceremony.
The florals on the arbor were so cheerful- and made the perfect setting for us to get married!
We reserved one chair for Michael’s uncle. He was a fan of Jameson, and loved riding his motorcycle, so we included his bandana and a bottle where he would have been sitting We had one chair for my Grandma, who was such a light to everyone. She had the best smile and was an avid gardener so beautiful flowers were the perfect way to mark where she would have watched us get married. We wish more than anything they could have celebrated with us.
I think Michael was a little nervous here! Our officiant, Mack, was wonderful and definitely kept us laughing!
This walk down the aisle went by so fast!
My something borrowed was the beautiful cathedral veil from my sweet friend Morgan. She got married the year before me, and her wedding was beautiful! She was definitely bridal inspiration for me <3
MARRIED!!
Now time to party!!
Our reception was a dream come true! We will always be thankful for the wonderful staff at Rixey Manor for flipping the ceremony space into this gorgeous reception room.
I hand lettered and painting these signs for each of the tables. We picked lyrics from our favorite songs to be included at each table.
While the ceremony space was being transformed, we were able to get some cool drone shots thanks to a great friend and take a few more portraits!
I hope you enjoyed these photos as much as I enjoyed blogging them!! This post would go on forever if I shared all my favorite reception images, so I will leave with this one and a few collages!
