Rachel + David | Washington, D.C. Elopement

October 15, 2021

When Rachel and David first inquired with me, I was SO excited to hear all about their plans for this session.  They wanted sunrise photos at the National Mall in their wedding attire, to celebrate the start of their marriage and honeymoon in D.C.  I had never photographed in D.C. prior to this, so it was really exciting for me to get the opportunity to photograph somewhere new.  I was definitely a bit nervous about photographing in D.C because I knew it would be different from any other session I have ever done.  Parking, researching the monuments, and obtaining permits was all new territory for me, but it was worth it because these are some of my new favorite images.  I had the best time exploring the monuments and getting to know Rachel and David better!

To Rachel and David, thank you a million times for trusting me with capturing your vision for these photos!  It was truly an honor and I am so glad I got to meet you both! <3

We started photographing right at sunrise… the early wake up was definitely worth it.  Seeing the monuments at sunrise was just spectacular.

So beautiful!!

Rachel’s ring is hands down one of the most unique rings I have ever photographed.

Favorite!!
