From the initial wedding inquiry from Rachel, I knew that her wedding was going to be so special. I have known Rachel and her family for essentially my whole life, and I was truly honored to capture such an exciting event for them. I was also excited to meet Austin because I had heard so many wonderful things about him and quickly realized he was the perfect match for Rachel!
Fast-forward to this year, the pandemic has greatly affected so many weddings, but these two were determined to get married on their original date. COVID-19 may have drastically changed this wedding from their original vision, but the day could not have been more spectacular. It was truly a beautiful wedding, and filled with so much love from their close family and dear friends.
To Rachel and Austin, I am so happy for you and loved getting to capture these memories for you. Much love to you both!
Rachel’s dress from Ava Laurenne was so pretty!
Beautiful girls!
They opted not to do a first look; instead Rachel did a first look with her dad which was so sweet.
Then it was time to get these two married! Their ceremony site was absolutely beautiful. All the pretty greens from the surrounding landscape really made their arbor pop!
Austin seeing his bride for the first time!
Rachel’s dear friend, Morgan, sang during the ceremony and it was such a sweet personal touch. She has a beautiful voice!
The happiest walk!
Right as they crossed underneath this arch, it started to rain. Luckily, we were safe from the rain because of the tree coverage After about 30 minutes, the clouds cleared, the rain stopped and we had the best evening glow for their portraits!
This was such a fun and supportive bridal party. Loved working with them!
Extra floral petals are always a good idea for shots like this!
The sun started to dip below the horizon, but that didn’t mean we had to stop portrait time, especially when you get to use a cathedral veil with the photos!
After portraits, it was time to celebrate. Rachel and Austin both went to VA Tech so they played Enter Sandman for their reception entrance 🙂 Perfect way to add a little Hokie pride to their wedding!
So many heartfelt and funny moments in the speeches.
Time to dance!
Austin’s parents surprised the newlyweds with a carriage ride for their official wedding “exit”. Such a fun way to top off their wedding!
Congrats again, Rachel and Austin!
Many thanks to these outstanding vendors who helped make sure this wedding was incredible!
