I recently had the pleasure of capturing a beautiful University of Virginia engagement session at sunrise with one of the sweetest couples, Thuy and Wei. We met in Charlottesville, a place that holds a special place in their hearts, as it’s where their story began. The University of Virginia, their shared alma mater, was the perfect backdrop for this special session.

Capturing Sunrise at the Iconic Rotunda

We started our morning at the iconic Rotunda, a stunning piece of architecture that embodies so much history and beauty. The early light of dawn kissed the columns and brick pathways, creating a soft, golden glow that was simply magical. As we strolled along the lawn, the morning light wrapped around Thuy and Wei. It was some of the prettiest light I’ve photographed in quite some time!

Thuy and Wei were a joy to photograph during their University of Virginia engagement session. Their love and excitement made for effortlessly genuine moments, and their smiles lit up every frame. It was clear that this session wasn’t just about the photos, but about celebrating their journey together—from meeting at UVA to planning their future as husband and wife.
